PROJECT GYPSUM FLINT
LOCATI
A strange flint with rune type imprints was collected at a beach with till from Denmark and kindly provided for further investigation. Shortly thereafter, flints with comparable shapes like gypsum crystals were collected from silicified limestone from the Netherlands (GROEVE KUNRADE).
MUSEUM
The runic flint has been photographed and preliminary described for the catalogue of the online vuurstenen museum (RUNIC FLINT).
LABORA
In the laboratory both finds are further investigated to better understand the relationship between gypsum and flint (LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING).
